Some claim that Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) won’t save the planet!

Perhaps this is true but can a strong focus on ESG make this place a little more tolerable?

This session explores the role of the public sector in ESG through a set of hot issues, identifying how Government Departments might start formulating approaches to these complex problems:

Environment: How can Departments meaningfully respond to climate change to not only achieve net zero by 2030, but also build resilient communities and practically support them in the face of growing national disasters?

Social: How will Departments manage the social effects of Covid on their key stakeholders – the Australian public – including the emerging challenges of growing mental health presentations, loss of education, and rebuilding fractured communities?

Governance: What are the likely implications of the National Anti-corruption Commission posed by the Government, and what might this increased focus on transparency mean for the way Departments operate?
