Daren offers extensive commercial, procurement and large corporate experience across private, public and tertiary sectors.
Daren commenced his procurement career in the oil & gas industry, where he was responsible for sub-contracting marine engineering services as well as the maintenance and upgrade of pipelay, trenching and dive support vessels.
Daren was a trusted and long-standing independent contractor for the UK’s Central Civil Government, during which time he held senior delivery roles on many large, novel and complex procurement projects, including total facilities management services for 1,800 properties, the commercial case for an ICT transformation program with 80,000 desktop users, three technology demonstrator projects to address counter-terrorism capability gaps, an $800m technical capabilities panel agreement and contributing to the commercial strategy for securing the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Following his migration from the UK to Adelaide in 2012, Daren was responsible for leading the procurement function and transforming the centralised financial and travel services for the University of South Australia.
Daren is a keen DIY enthusiast and spends much of his free time maintaining his 1870s heritage-listed home in the Adelaide Hills. He also enjoys exploring the hills on either his mountain bike or motorbike, and playing the piano.
