Felicity Cooper is a highly experienced lawyer and government advisor with over 20 years’ experience.
Her background includes legislative and regulatory review and reforms, policy development, business case development, regulatory impact analysis, and governance advice. She has supported Government’s development of complex legislation across various sectors, including the establishment of new legislative and regulatory frameworks in complex policy areas of Defence & National Security, social services and health.
Felicity also has extensive commercial law and procurement experience, particularly in the Defence sector. Her leadership extends to managing projects for large government organisations like the Department of Defence, Department of Health, the Australian Taxation Office and the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance.
Felicity’s multidisciplinary skillset enables her to work hand in hand with clients on not just legal issues, but to consider those legal issues in the broader context of prevalent policy, operational, business and organisational factors.
Felicity holds a Bachelor of Laws/Asian Studies at The Australian National University and a Master of Laws (with honours) at Duke University, USA. She also has a Certificate IV in Government Procurement.
Outside of work Felicity is a keen participant in endurance events such as triathlons and marathons. Increasingly, she and her family are discovering trail running around Canberra’s beautiful bushland.
