Norm McMurray

Norm is a former Navy Submariner and Electronic Warfare Analyst with over 20 years of experience in military and national intelligence, with deep expertise in SIGINT, GEOINT, and OSINT. Having worked across a range of complex operational and strategic environments, he now brings that experience to Systems Planning and Analysis Australia (SPA Australia).His work focuses on developing future submarine capability, including workforce modelling, training strategy, policy development, and operational planning — all aimed at strengthening the submarine enterprise and supporting trilateral objectives under the AUKUS partnership.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Security, Terrorism and Counterterrorism from Murdoch University in Perth Western Australia and remains committed to continuous learning and contributing to the national security community.

Norm resides in Canberra with his partner Hayley and daughter Gianna. Norm enjoys Basketball and Athletics in his free time.
